Pride Week kicks off in Buffalo
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Pride Week has made its big repay to Buffalo. The event kicked off Tuesday with a flag-raising ceremony in Niagara Square.
Organizers possess announced the Pride Parade and Pride Festival will
return as in-person events as part of Buffalo Pride Week in June.
Buffalo Pride Week will take place May 31 through June 5, with the theme of "Homecoming." The parade and festival will be held in person on June 5 after a two-year hiatus due to COVID
Organizers say they are excited to bring the events back and hopefully uplift the LGBTQ+ community.
The Pride Parade will begin at Elmwood and Forest Avenues and end at Canalside. The Festival will accept place at Canalside at the conclusion of the parade.
Pride Week is hosted by Evergreen Health Foundation, an affiliate of Evergreen Health. Proceeds from the Pride Festival support the mission and programming of the Pride Center of Western New York.

Where to Celebrate Pride in Recent York State
Pride is always an exciting time in New York, and is bringing a jam-packed lineup of meaningful and enjoyable events all across the verb. Highlights include the iconic NYC Pride March, illumination of Niagara Falls in Pride colors, and Pride Night with the Syracuse Mets. At these and other Pride events in New York, LGBTQ New Yorkers and visitors will come together again in the birthplace of the modern movement to show love for each other, for the community, and for New York! Pride in the Sky (Hudson Valley)
Kick off the season of Pride in the Hudson Valley on the Walkway Over the Hudson! Camp Everything in Buffalo Pride Parade
The parade route starts at Elmwood Avenue and Forest Avenue at 11 am; ends at Allen Street.
Artist Adam Weekley recognized a need for content for the youngest Buffalo Pride festivalgoers and LGBTQIA+ youth. He dreamed up Camp Everything, a mobile art installation, and performance, drawing on nostalgic memories of s summer camps. The vibrant float and its legion of content campers will take a hike in the Pride Parade and Festival Sunday, June 2, at 11 am. The route starts at Elmwood Avenue and Forest Avenue; ends at Allen Street.
