Catholic church and gay marriage

In recent years, various questions relating to homosexuality have been addressed with some frequency by Pope John Paul II and by the relevant Dicasteries of the Holy See.(1) Homosexuality is a troubling moral and social phenomenon, even in those countries where it does not display significant legal issues. Stances of Faiths on LGBTQ+ Issues: Old Catholics/Independent Catholics

BACKGROUND

These Catholic churches, ranging from liberal to conservative in their theology and doctrine, consider themselves Ancient Catholics, a denomination that has been in place since the s when it rejected the supremacy of the Roman episcopacy over other bishops; a show of view shared with others in the catholic (universal) tradition, such as Anglicans, Episcopalians, and Orthodox Christians.
